The Danville Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire early Wednesday morning that turned into a house fire. Units responded to a possible structure fire at 2609 Westover Drive this morning at 2:37 am.

Once on scene units discovered a vehicle under a carport on fire with the fire extending into the attic of the house. All of the occupants were able to escape before the fire department arrived.

Crews knocked the fire down quickly and worked several hours extinguishing the fire in the attic and void spaces. The occupants are being assisted by the Red Cross.

The cause of the vehicle fire is under investigation by the Fire Marshal’s Office.
