On Tuesday, the Danville Fire Department responded to 124 Altice Drive for a report of a structure fire. The first engine, Engine Five, arrived on scene at 11:45 am.

The initial report from Engine Five’s officer, was heavy fire and smoke coming from a storage building in the backyard of the residence. Engine Five’s crew pulled a hand-line to attack the blaze, which was a fully involved storage building in the backyard.

The building’s measurement was approximately 10’x20′.  There were no injuries involved. The fire department had the blaze under control within seven minutes.  The fire began to melt the vinyl siding on the home and would have burned the house without the fire department’s intervention.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. The Danville Fire Department responded with three fire engines, an aerial apparatus, a safety vehicle, a command vehicle, and Chief 3. The department had 16 personnel on scene. The Danville Fire Department would like to thank the Danville Life Saving Crew, the Police Department, and Danville Utilities for their support.
